2017 SABA-DC Public Interest Benefit Gala
On Saturday, November 18, 2017, the South Asian Bar Association of Washington, D.C. (“SABA-DC”) will hold its annual Public Interest Benefit Gala. The Gala, held this year at the District Architecture Center, will bring together attorneys, lobbyists, and other professionals from law firms, lobbying firms, corporations, government, academia, and nonprofit organizations from the D.C. metropolitan area to raise funds for SABA-DC and its worthwhile Public Interest initiatives.
Thanks to the generous support of law firm, corporate, and individual sponsors, SABA-DC has been able to provide necessary financial assistance to law students every year through SABA-DC’s Public Interest Fellowship program. The Public Interest Fellowship program provides financial assistance in the form of summer fellowships to law students working at public interest organizations in the metropolitan D.C. area.

In-House Counsel Reception
A separate In-house Counsel Reception where attorneys can network and have cocktails with in-house counsel from various companies from the DMV area will be held at the beginning of the evening. Last year, we had nearly 100 people in attendance just for the In-House Counsel Reception.
This year's distinguished speaker will be Sujay Parikh, Vice President and Head of Legal, Global Structured & Project Finance for SunEdison. SunEdison is the largest global renewable energy development company and manufactures solar technology and develops, finances, owns and operates wind and solar power plants.
